Description:

This is the fifth lecture of the annual Hagel Lecture Series on Civil Politics and International Security, a forum to amplify and encourage greater civic participation in critical discussions.

This year, Kurt Campbell, former Deputy Secretary of State (2024-2025), will join Chuck Hagel, the 24th U.S. Secretary of Defense, to discuss challenges facing American national security and U.S. foreign policy today and in the years to come.

This timely discussion will be moderated by Prof. Robert Pape, Director of the Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST) and will be followed by a Q&A session from the audience.
