Activism, Advocacy, Action for Residents of India’s Informal Settlements

The one-day conference brought together individuals and organizations working directly in India’s informal settlements to share their insights on how to improve the life of India’s urban poor. The participating organizations do on-the-ground activism and research on topics including housing rights; access to basic services like water, electricity, and sanitation; women’s rights and inclusion; and public health.

The conference was organized in collaboration with Khalsa College, Mumbai, PUKAR, and the University of Chicago Center in Delhi.
