Description:

Dr. Hegde from the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago talked about a patent pending medical device called Internal Airway Percussor (IAP), Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) and Asthma ECHO (Extension of Community Health Outcomes) programs.

IAP is a portable airway clearance or chest physiotherapy device that helps loosen mucus from lungs. VMA is a healthcare software application that improves physicians’ interaction with Electronic Health Records and reduces charting time. In other words, VMA acts like a virtual intern who will take care of all mundane tasks of writing progress notes, sending orders and prescriptions. Asthma ECHO is a web based, interactive telementoring program for community physicians to enhance their skillsets for taking care of children with complex asthma.
