The International Collaborative Effort (ICE) on Injury Statistics is a global initiative that was established by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to improve the accuracy, consistency, and comparability of injury data collection and analysis across countries. This ICE meeting in Delhi is being held in conjunction with the 15th World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion (Safety 2024), and provides an opportunity for Indian researchers to engage with UChicago researchers and the leading injury statisticians globally. The ICE meeting focuses on injury outcome and severity measurement, record linkage, new surveillance methods, including those in information-poor settings, technologies and data sources, and methodological challenges and approaches to timely injury surveillance during pandemics. Notably, the meeting includes sessions focused on statistical methods tailored to data sources available in low- and middle-income countries.
