On July 3, 2025, the UChicago Center in Delhi hosted a reception for newly admitted students to the University of Chicago, across schools and across degree programs, welcoming them into a global academic community.
The session featured opening remarks by Katie Hrinyak, Leni Chaudhuri, and Jubakshi Chakravorty on the Center’s mission in India, followed by Swapna Shaw giving an overview of the career guidance and support that the University provides. These remarks were followed by a panel discussion with Parjanya Tiwari (College ’28), Shyamji Yadav (MPP ’26), Prerna Vij (CIR '23), and moderated by Jubakshi (MAPSS ‘24) sharing practical insights on campus life from accommodation and housing to libraries and tips for surviving Chicago winters to community activities and internships and time management. From housing and libraries to favourite cafés and RSOs, the discussion was packed with insights, ending in a warm yet reassuring Q&A.
Such gatherings exemplify our commitment to student support, cross-border collaboration, and academic excellence.
