Anindita (Oni) Basu Delivers Lecture on Inflammatory Bowel Disease in AIIMS Delhi

On October 24, 2024, Professor Anindita (Oni) Basu from the University of Chicago delivered a lecture at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. Her talk, titled Single Cell Experiments at the Epithelial Barrier: Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Host-Microbiome Interactions, brought together faculty and students engaged in cutting-edge medical research. Prof. Basu, who holds a position of Associate Professor in the Section of Genetic Medicine at the Department of Medicine, University of Chicago, presented her ongoing work on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), combining single-cell experimentation with microbiome analysis. The event was facilitated by the UChicago Center in Delhi and included valuable exchanges with AIIMS faculty, including Professor Vineet Ahuja, who also works on IBD. This exchange developed into a collaborative research project between UChicago and AIIMS on furthering IBD research globally as part of the Provost’s Global Faculty Awards India-South Asia 2025-2026.
